- We are currently looking for an experienced External Communication and Media Relations Manager responsible for the concept, implementation and evaluation of strategically important external communications. This is a key role, working with internal stakeholders, including top management to communicate the company's values, strategy, goals and direction and grow its market profile. The successful applicant will serve as a spokesperson towards external media outlets. The role will also be responsible for leading the communications work stream for major projects such as sustainability and financial publications.
- Based in Zurich and reporting to the Head of External Communications, the role is based on an initial 12 month engagement with potential to extend.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Develop and drive impactful corporate communications activities with defined key stakeholders based on the Group's communications strategy
- Create content for press releases, presentations, brochures and the company's online channels
- Acting as a spokesperson to manage all media inquiries
- Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts with key journalists in business, financial and general media and the sustainability community
- Support handling of sustainability and public affairs related communications topics
- Support with the organization of events, such as press conferences, webcasts and press trips during the planning phase as well as onsite for major events; acting as consultant with regards to media interaction
- Support and consult with Investor Relations for all mandatory financial communications and announcements
- Drive process for halfyear and fullyear results announcement in collaboration with Investor Relations
- Further drive media monitoring and internal flow of media echo
- Monitor, analyze and communicate results of external communication on a regular basis
About You: - University degree (economics, business administration, communication, journalism, or similar)
- Around 7 years of proven experience in a similar function with another publicly listed company, agency or press (food industry or agrocommodity expertise would be an asset)
- Solid network of media contacts, and the ability to expand this network, including key media and foreign correspondents in Switzerland
- Excellent writing skills; ability to develop stories and to write content for all kinds of channels (verbal, digital, print)
- Experience in financial communication
- Strong negotiation skills while maintaining constructive working relationships
- Proven seniority to communicate with / consult executives & managers on eye level
- Experience of working in fastmoving environments with frequent changes in the scope or direction of projects
