Details of Employment:


The Project Manager (Community-led Monitoring), HIV Programmes and Advocacy will be based in Geneva, Switzerland, and the IAS offers the possibility for Swiss-based employees to work up to 50% from their legal residence.

The Project Manager will report to the Senior Technical Advisor, HIV Programmes and Advocacy. The position is full-time and short-term to start as soon as possible for 18 months maximal duration.

Purpose of the Position:

The incumbent will be responsible for managing, coordinating and administration of the Community-led Monitoring (CLM) programme.

The incumbent will provide overall programmatic coordination, budgeting, financial and logístical services to the CLM programme as well as support for the HIV Programmes and Advocacy department.


Through its programmes, the department harnesses research, shapes the evidence base and amplifies the voices of communities living with and affected by HIV to influence policy across and beyond the HIV care continuum.

Specifically, through the CLM programme, the IAS aims to support greater understanding and adoption of CLM as an effective intervention to improve quality and effectiveness of health programmes, including HIV.


Main Responsibilities:

Coordination and project management

  • Manage and coordinate the CLM workplan, keeping track of progress towards key investment deliverables.
  • Manage the annual budget and operational plan, keep an uptodate budget for internal project use and in the budget system; create estimates to ensure appropriate expenditure of the grant.
  • Manage contracts, payments and other agreements with subaward recipients, consultants and other partners, including development of requests for proposal as well as tracking timelines, deliverables and expenditures.
  • Track and collect data on key performance indicators and achievements for internal and external reporting purposes.
  • Lead or support, as needed, the drafting of donor reports and grant proposals, as well as internal monthly programme updates.
  • Facilitate the design, translation and dissemination of key programme materials, including virtual/webpublications.

Organization of meetings and events

  • Coordinate virtual, hybrid and inperson events by inviting speakers, organizing audio visual recordings, and documenting outcomes.
  • Convene and facilitate meetings and events, both virtual and inperson (conferences, workshops, webinars, focus group discussions) and represent the programme and department at relevant external conferences and meetings.
  • Support participants in the leadup to and during events through registration, logistics and travel arrangements, technological support and general guidance.

Facilitate stakeholder engagement

  • Coordinate the steering committee for the regional CLM workshop.
  • Liaise with partners and stakeholders in CLM towards the aim of the programme.


Perform additional tasks and support additional programmes as requested by Senior Technical Advisor, HIV Programmes and Advocacy and the Director, HIV Programmes and Advocacy.


Academic Qualifications:

  • A degree in public health, international development, business, business administration, project management, or a related field or relevant work experience.
  • A graduate degree would be an asset.

Experience:

  • At least 35 years of experience in a similar position, preferably working in global health or development at an international level.
  • Experience coordinating and administering projects and working across functional areas.
  • Experience coordinating virtual, hybrid and/or inperson meetings, conferences and other events.
  • Experience working with external partners, donors, service providers and/or consultants an advantage.
  • Experience working in the HIV field and demonstrated interest in healthcare provision is a plus.

Skills/Competencies:

  • Good understanding of global health challenges, including those specific to people living with and affected by HIV.
  • Highly organized and systematic, with strong attention to detail both in writing and budget administration.
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision and take initiative.
