A day in the life of the Group Head of Learning & Knowledge

STRATEGY AND OPERATIONS

  • Guide stakeholders to develop a learning strategy that aligns capabilities to the business outcomes and contributes to attract, develop, and retain talents, including the next generation
  • Promote Group L&K as a strategic partner within the organization, create, implement, and communicate a clear governance
  • Manage multiple stakeholders needs, priorities and expectations through strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Scout and anticipate the future learning technologies linked to the business needs
  • Enhance best practices, collaborate, support the business needs at the Business Unit Service & Performance
  • Coordinate the training journey for the other Business Units and Group Functions
  • Engage with senior leaders to empower and promote a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing in the organization

PERFORMANCE AND IMPACT

  • Develop the Group L&K team's data literacy and digital fluency
  • Communicate insights, results and recommendations to stakeholders and guides them to make evidencebased decisions and actions
  • Be the SPOC of external providers, manage and optimize the budget/investment allocated for L&K
  • Recommend new tools, methods, and technologies (facetoface & virtual) to stakeholders, articulating their benefits
  • Coordinate with the Group HR community the training & learning plan in the regions/legal entities and manage directly the small team dedicated to it in the Swiss entity
  • Lead the L&K effectiveness: help managers measure success using team performance, business outcomes and productivity metrics rather than purely activity metrics

What will make you successful

  • 15 years+ of experience with proven track records on the implementation of a Learning and/or Knowledge strategy from A to Z, from strategy definition to worldwide rollout, experience of the machines/packaging industry being an asset
  • As a promoter of the L&K culture within the company, your innovative vision will be a great asset
  • Knowhow and usage of the new ways of working (tools, organization, and processes)
  • Familiar with change management approaches
  • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills, as well as stakeholders' management, your ability to quickly connect the dots and add value to the business will be key
  • Leading by example, handson, multitasking, flexible and stressresistant

Fluency in English (corporate language) and in French are required:

  • Flexibility and availability to travel between 10 to 25 days maximum per year

The production site of Mex, near Lausanne in Switzerland, is also the headquarters of the Bobst Group. It is the most important site, employing approx. 1500 passionate people.
It also trains each year roughly 200 apprentices. The site offers an idyllic work environment. In the countryside and close to major highways, it is also well served by public transport. It offers many amenities, such as a corporate restaurant, sports fields, a fitness and a nursery. The facilities have been recently renovated and represent a model for sustainable development.
