WHAT'S THE ROLE?

Hilti has recently launched a semi-autonomous mobile drilling robot, the Jaibot. But many challenges remain. During this internship, you will investigate, test and develop on state-of-the-art algorithms functional to mobile manipulator autonomy.

It is a challenging opportunity to get both theoretical insights into the algorithmic aspects as well as to do hands on implementation, practical work on physical robot prototypes.

Start date is flexible to the student's availability, duration of at least 6 months

WHAT DOES THE ROLE INVOLVE?

  • As an intern in our Robotics & Visual Computing group, you will be part of our research and technology development team on construction robot autonomy topics. You will work closely with leading experts in the field to explore and dive into cutting edge robot autonomy algorithms.

WHAT YOU NEED IS:

  • Enrollment for the whole internship period in a Master's program in computer science, mechanical engineering or electrical engineering
  • Good knowledge and prior experience in programming (C++, ROS, Gazebo)
  • Hardware debugging and code deployment experience on physical robot prototypes
  • Experience with either motion planning or sensor fusion algorithms for manipulator and mobile robots
  • Patience, drive and persistence for working on challenging problems
