The role of the Geneva Local Purchaser involves managing the supply of goods and services to internal and external customers, ensuring quality, competitive pricing, and timely delivery in alignment with our procurement strategy.

ORGANISATIONAL INTEGRATION

The Geneva Local Purchaser will handle Material Requirement Planning to assess production needs, guarantee component availability, and adhere to deadlines and stock targets. This role also involves addressing specific internal customer requirements, optimizing procurement processes for efficiency and top-notch quality.

Main tasks:
  • Placing orders with preferred suppliers based on production requirements.
  • Ensuring order confirmations and timely delivery.
  • Obtaining initial quotations for specified items.
  • Managing suppliers and contracts.
  • Monitoring KPIs and general purchasing administration.
Main activities in procurement:
  • Managing purchase orders, rescheduling, and follow-up.
  • Facilitating communication between suppliers and internal customers.
  • Ensuring compliance with supply agreements and managing supplier relationships.
  • Overseeing stock coverage and RFQs for new products.
Main activities in purchasing:
  • Renewing contracts and recommending new suppliers.
  • Evaluating suppliers and negotiating terms.
  • Monitoring prices and supporting various departments.
Requirements:
  • Background in purchasing and 2 years of experience in an engineering/manufacturing company.
  • Technical understanding, especially in mechanical parts.
  • Fluency in English and French.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably ORACLE, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills and customer orientation.
