The main offices are situated in Haag (Switzerland), while the manufacturing hubs are spread across Switzerland, Malaysia, Romania, and Taiwan.
As an Order & Material Specialist in the Product Line Supply Chain Management team, your role involves the prompt operational procurement of direct materials (raw materials, components, semi-finished products, etc.), with a primary focus on meeting customer requirements. In instances of high cyclical and project-specific demands, you ensure a high level of availability through optimal stock levels to meet our objectives. The core task of this vital position is to plan and oversee customer orders.
Adhering to our VAT principles, you collaborate closely with suppliers, our production facilities, Global Category Management, as well as other functional units within Operations, and your peers from various departments.
You will collaborate with the Product Line Supply Chain Team to facilitate the complete sourcing process (evaluation to award), engage in project-specific negotiations with suppliers during the quoting and execution stages, and enhance cost efficiency and lead time in projects.
Assist the Product Line Supply Chain Teams in addressing claims and implementing corrective measures with suppliers.
Maintain active communication with stakeholders to incorporate their requirements into your daily tasks. Play an active role in enhancing Product Line Supply Chain Management to consistently identify areas for improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with Product Line Supply Chain Leaders and Supply Specialist to identify and ensure supply requirements
- Plan and execute tender processes for respective projects
- Manage planning and dispatching of customer orders within the Assembly Department
- Oversee order execution from offer evaluation to the ordering phase
- Accountable for item/article planning
- Assess offers and confirm orders
- Continuously review and adjust frame contracts
- Act as the Single Point of Contact for customer orders
- Place orders for all approved products (serial parts) based on demand cockpit and procurement pool, monitoring and escalating orders when necessary
- Communicate, coordinate, and negotiate with current and potential suppliers involved in projects
- Actively engage in materials management in collaboration with other product line teams within and outside the project scope
- Support in forecasting to plan future orders
- Maintain accurate data in applied ERP systems (article and other master data, etc.)
- Proactively monitor orders and manage shortages, including reporting (internal/external) and utilizing the escalation process
- Manage assigned articles and suppliers based on economic factors. Conduct ongoing reviews of management types (Kanban, Dispo, order-related)
- Ensure high availability with optimal inventory levels
- Conduct cross-departmental coordination and meetings to ensure the required delivery reliability
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Minimum 3 years of experience in materials management, operational, and/or project procurement within a cyclical industry like semiconductor technology or equivalent field
- Excellent technical background as a process specialist/technician or related role, with additional qualifications in economics considered a plus
- Outgoing, team-oriented, and communicative individual
- Enjoy working collaboratively and fostering team spirit
- Flexible and adaptable to new challenges
- Approach problem-solving in a pragmatic, structured, analytical, and solution-driven manner
- Strong resilience, confident demeanor, and appropriate assertiveness
- Proficient in ERP/MRP tools (e.g., MS Dynamics 365, SAP, PSS, etc.)
- Advanced skills in MS Office applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
- Proficiency in German and good command of English
