Find possible mechanisms and new markers of adrenarche, a prepubertal event of human sexual development
100%, starting date or later
The aim of the SNF-funded project "AdmiR3" is to understand fundamental mechanisms regulating human adrenarche, a critical prepubertal event in human sexual development.
With multi-omics approaches we will investigate human biomaterials and perform cellbased studies in order to understand underlying mechanisms of regulation of this event in health and disease.
Tasks- Generation and analysis of transcriptome profiles to investigate the impact of small and messenger RNAs in human
- Use of multiple animal models to interrogate the conservation of hypothesisdriven mechanisms of adrenarche
- Chemical and genetic manipulation in human cell models of androgen biosynthesis, including reprogrammed
- Support and preparation of scientific reports and journal articles
Requirements:
- Master's degree in (Bio)Physics, (Bio)engineering, Biological Sciences,
- Microbiology, Biochemistry, Systems Biology, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics/Computational Biology, or related
- Experience with basic wet laboratory techniques
- Handson experience with key biochemical and molecular biological methods
- Motivation to work in an international research environment
- Strong motivation to learn and commitment to science
- Good communication skills
- You will follow a highly recognized PhD training program at the GCB of the University of Bern
- You will have access to stateoftheart research equipment in metabolomics, cell biology and bioinformatics
- You will work in a dynamic and interdisciplinary team
