Your Role
As a Financial Investment Analyst, you'll closely collaborate with portfolio managers to:
- Conduct analysis of private markets portfolios of the pension fund;
- Monitor investments and engage in regular updates with fund managers;
- Create quantitative models to aid in assessing new investments and existing investment performance;
- Support due diligence on potential investment opportunities, including financial modeling;
- Verify financial data for accuracy and integrity in reporting;
- Prepare investment reports and presentations for the portfolio management committee;
- Team up with colleagues on special projects and research initiatives in the alternative investments market.
Your Profile
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, expertise in financial modeling and data analysis;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to convey complex ideas clearly;
- Keen interest in alternative investments and private markets;
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of an international, dynamic team;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and familiarity with investment analysis tools;
- Ideally, some exposure to programming languages like Python;
- Detail-oriented, organized, adept at handling large financial datasets;
- Fluency in English, proficiency in French is a plus.
Eligibility Requirements
- Citizen of a specified country;
- Maximum of two years of post-graduate professional experience in Finance, Economics, or related field with a Bachelor's or Master's degree;
- No previous CERN fellow or graduate contract;
- University degree is mandatory;
- PhD holders are ineligible.
Additional Details
Closing date: 23:59h (midnight) CEST

Contract duration: 24 months, possible extension up to 36 months.

Compensation Package
- Monthly stipend between 5134 and 5647 Swiss Francs (net of tax);
- Coverage under CERN's comprehensive health scheme, Pension Fund;
- Possible benefits include installation grant, family/child allowances, travel expense coverage;
- 30 days paid leave annually;
- Training at CERN, in-house language courses for English/French.
