French Course Facilitator (Company mandate):

As the organiser of some of the biggest and most iconic sport events in the world, we lead the way in the sport and event industry.
We are looking for a Course Facilitator on a mandate base to support us on our mission.

  • The FIFA Guardians Safeguarding in Football Diploma _is an educational programme made up of five online courses designed to support the work, and professionalize the role of, Safeguarding Officers in football, and aims to develop a group of trained safeguarding officers across FIFA's 211 Member Associations (known as "Nominated FIFA Learners").
Developed in collaboration by The Open University and FIFA, each of the courses is delivered in three languages:
English, French and Spanish.

The _FIFA Guardians Safeguarding in Football Diploma _will be awarded to Nominated FIFA Learners only, with the five courses also free and available to access by other "open learners" who can complete The _FIFA Guardians Safeguarding in Football Award_.Nominated FIFA Learners' experience is enhanced by dedicated support including course facilitation through discussion forums, 'programme-wide webinars' on specific safeguarding themes, enhanced assessment tasks for Courses 3 and 5, and mandatory participation in a Residential Workshop on case-management.- FIFA learners will receive a recognition for each Course successfully completed through digital badges.

Badges demonstrate participation and recognize learning, following a final quiz + assessment (Courses 3 & 5).

FIFA will also award a certificate of completion and recognition in the form of a FIFA Diploma to those Nominated FIFA Learners who successfully complete all five Courses.


French Course Facilitator (Company mandate contract):

We are seeking to recruit an experienced facilitator for the French language version of the courses.

Main tasks associated with the role:

  • Before the start date of the course_
  • Attend online training on the use of OpenLearn Create (2 hours)
  • Familiarise yourself in detail with all the French study materials for the course. You must complete the 5 courses online yourself ahead of the student cohorts and become familiar with the FIFA Guardians Safeguarding Toolkit for Member Associations.

The learning hours for each course are:
Course 2 (12 hrs.), Course 3 (30 hrs.), Course 4 (20 hrs.) and Course 5 (7 hrs.).

  • Pay particular attention to the steps each week that are marked for student interaction on the Discussion Forum.
  • Attend an online briefing (in English) with the course team which includes guidance on your safeguarding responsibilities and reporting as part of your role (1.5 hours)
  • While the course is in progress_
  • Interact with the course team as appropriate (1 hours per course identifying key messages and occurring themes and any concerns arising.
  • Support learners in French on the interactive steps of the course (525 hours per course). You will flexibly facilitate each course for approx. 13 hours per week, over the duration of the course indicated in the Study Planner (attached).

This will include:

responding positively to learners' posts and posing questions in the responses which will prompt further thinking; reporting any posts you are unsure about to another facilitator or to the academic team and flagging comments that you believe may break the OpenLearn Create Code of Conduct to OpenLearn moderators for review or raise safeguarding concerns.


  • At the end of Courses 3 and 5, as part of the facilitation team, mark the learners' assignments (max. learner word length is 500 words).
  • Communicate within the facilitation team in English in order to manage standardisation of assignment marking and commenting.
  • Facilitate the 5day residential workshop which is dedicated to the theme of casemanagement to be held in Summer 202
  • After students have completed each course_
  • Contribute to a debrief with the course team (1 hour).
As a course facilitator, you will be supported by both academic advisors - who can address questions of safeguarding content that you are unable to answer - and a safeguarding focal point who you will be able to go to if you have to manage a safeguarding disclosure or report a concern
