Packaging Engineer

The role of the Packaging Engineer will involve overseeing packaging and sterilization processes with Drug Product Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) and third-party suppliers.

The candidate will be the go-to person for sterilization expertise, managing commercial sterilization processes, implementing new technology, and programs. Responsibilities include:

  • Building strong relationships with manufacturers
  • Keeping up-to-date with pharmaceutical sterilization technologies and ensuring CMO compliance
  • Investigating and resolving sterilization issues
  • Coordinating manufacturing meetings and action items
  • Preparing reports and scheduling committee meetings
  • Ensuring Quality Events are managed effectively
  • Monitoring GMP compliance
  • Providing onsite support
  • Developing metrics to measure performance
  • Communicating issues to the team
  • Training and mentoring staff

Requirements for the ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Chemistry or equivalent
  • 5-10 years of experience in pharmaceutical packaging
  • Knowledge of biopharmaceutical packaging processes and cGMPs
  • Experience in product launches and working with service providers
  • Strong sense of urgency and effective communication skills
  • Experience with sterilization is a plus
  • Proficiency in English; German/French is a bonus
  • Willingness to travel
