What you will be doing:
- Perform Import/NCTS customs clearances
- Maintain contacts with customers, customs, and government authorities as well as external brokers
- Support exports in export customs clearances
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Ensure all tasks in the role are completed correctly, promptly, quickly, and cost-effectively
- Handle shipments through E-DEC (Electronic Declaration)
- Consider the needs and expectations of customers/other World Courier offices and ensure compliance with Swiss customs rules & regulations
- Coordinate collaboration between the department and all other areas of the company to ensure smooth information flow
Tasks and competencies:
- Prepare customs files, process and handle customs clearance of all categories
- Respond to 'ok to send' requests from foreign representatives
- Check papers before shipment and inform the shipping department of any necessary changes
- Monitor all import shipments and keep the TMS up to date
- Recognize important information and act on it immediately
- Communicate with national and international World Courier stations/agents
- Conduct preparatory measures
- Handle all customs formalities
- Attend to individual tasks assigned by superiors
Experience and education requirements:
- Commercial training or equivalent training in the transport industry
- Several years of experience in an international and operational air freight company/customs clearance
- Precise work and high commitment to quality

- Native or good knowledge of the German language (spoken and written)
- Advanced English skills (at least B2 level)
- Good IT skills
Reporting directly to:
The Customs Clearance Specialist reports to the Head of Customs Clearance or the Country Operations Manager.
