The Department of Environmental Toxicology (Utox) has an opening for aPostDoc position to computationally model the Fish Invitrome toward a virtual fish
Building on our successes to establish fish cell line-based in vitro assay procedures to predict chemical impact on fish, we aim to advance our "Fish Invitrome" framework by (i) expanding its experimental capabilities toward a broader panel of cell lines and impacts of chemical toxicity and (ii) integrating this experimental work via mechanistic computational models.
This position is for an individual who would like to develop the computational part to allow for quantitative in vitro-to-in-vivo extrapolation (IVIVE).
Different types of models can be envisioned alone or in combination, such as quantitative Adverse Outcome Pathways (AOP) and ToxicoKinetic-ToxicoDynamic (TKTD) models.
As part of the modelling efforts, you will have an opportunity to closely interact with two PhD students on the project and other colleagues who perform experimental work.
Moreover, we collaborate with social sciences colleagues from Eawag and Utrecht University to accelerate the acceptance and implementation of our framework by taking regulatory routines and procedures, as well as industrial innovation practices, into account.
