Internship Tribology Application Lab (gn)
In this role, you will support the tribology lab by conducting benchmark wear tests for sales, assisting R&D, and participating in third-party projects.
Your Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for testing activities conducted for external as well as for internal customers such as R&D project leaders, product managers, marketing, and sales
- You conduct wear tests of PVD and Thermal Spray Coatings thinfilm coatings and wear tests on e.g., solid particle erosion, cavitation erosion
- You work on equipment for 3D plastic printing and implement 3D printing of metal parts
- You setup and validate the newly acquired tribometers
- You follow standard testing procedures and interpret customer specifications
- You are in a current study program of Bachelor or Master degree in Materials Science or Mechanical Engineering (a valid matriculation is required)
- Basic knowledge of creating CAD drawings
- Previous experience in the field of wear testing and thinfilm coatings is a plus
- Proficiency in MS Power Point, Excel, experience in statistical analysis is a plus
- You have strong work ethic and the ability to communicate effectively
- English skills, German is a plus
