About the role:


This position will lead procurement for the Vaccines Business Unit and be the senior level contact interface with the category and regional Procurement organizations.

This role is responsible for ensuring the global business unit goals and strategies are met and accounted for and supported in the Procurement Organization's strategies, plans and activities.

The Procurement Lead, Vaccine Business Unit will be a critical member of the business unit's Leadership Team. You will report to Head of Regional Real Estate, Facilities, and Procurement, GPD

How you will contribute:

  • Establish a robust and sustainable procurement function within the business unit to ensure divisional and corporate business goals and objectives are met.
  • Develop and implement a procurement strategy that supports and enables the Vaccines Business unit's vision and business requirements.
  • Develop and execute strategic business processes category and supplier management, 'purchase to pay', etc.
  • Develop, monitor and improve the appropriate Key Performance Incentives (KPIs)
  • Ensure alignment between category activities and divisional requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement methodology while ensuring compliance and improving efficiencies and effectiveness.
  • Ensure a high level of reliability in customer and service delivery and maintain strong strategic relationships and partnerships with suppliers.
  • Establish strong relationships with key business partners while working closely with category managers, as well as key business unit stakeholders.
  • Understand the challenges of the organization and awareness of Takeda's future direction and business challenges to successfully adapting the appropriate strategies, structure and approach to costeffectively support the evolving needs.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 10+ years indepth strategic and operational procurement experience
  • 15+ years overall business experience, with at least 5 years in the pharmaceutical industry
  • 4+ years prior experience procuring relevant goods and services for a similar business unit or company.
  • Demonstrated success leading global teams to achieving documented savings through various sourcing strategies
  • Documented experience leading cost reduction and value improvement programs
Desired

  • MBA
  • 13+ years purchasing/strategic sourcing experience including sourcing of services and other categories, contract negotiations and supplier management programs

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Professional certifications, memberships desired: CPM, CPA, ISM, NBTA
