Job Title: Telecommunications Infrastructure Engineer

General aim of the position:

  • Perform and repair electrical installations in telecom sites;
  • Perform routine maintenance and resolve building infrastructure related faults in telecom sites in cooperation with vendors and partners if needed to ensure maximum equipment availability and personnel safety;
  • Participate in on-call service roster.

Main tasks:

  • Ensure and track that routine site checks are performed according to the defined periodical cycle, following the work instructions and respecting the agreed KPI;
  • Coordinate the repair of complex infrastructure faults with external partners;
  • Coordinate infrastructure and telecom equipment move or dismantling activities in telecom sites;
  • Perform periodical site infrastructure maintenance on the field;
  • Follow the spare part handling processes;
  • Ensure that consumables are available in the regional warehouses;
  • Support the Field Engineers/Field Technicians on infrastructure activities;
  • Support the Field Engineers/Field Technicians on telecom activities in case of major outages;
  • Perform electrical power measurements when requested;
  • Maintain the infrastructure in a clean state (including cleaning and grass cutting);
  • Deploy power generators for planned or emergency power outages;
  • Measurement and maintenance of the battery backup systems (included battery replacement);
  • Request site access, escort, and supervise third party personnel on the sites when needed;
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call roster.

Required competencies:

  • Willingness to travel on a daily basis throughout Switzerland;
  • Solid understanding of security and safety rules and standards;
  • Willingness to continuously expand technical know-how;
  • Flexibility to work in a very dynamic environment.
  • Education: recognized apprenticeship in the electrical or electro-mechanical area.

Experience:

  • Several years of experience as a telecommunications infrastructure engineer;
  • Experience in air conditioning systems is advantageous;
  • Experience in building management systems is advantageous;
  • Language:

English & German: mandatory (oral & written);

Regional language: mandatory (oral & written).

Other: no issues with vertigo (climbing on masts, ascending ladders, and working on rooftops).
