The SMILe project is an international multicentre implementation science project to develop/adapt and evaluate an e-Health facilitated integrated care model in allogeneic stem cell transplantation facilitated by eHealth (SMILe).

With the SMILe study's data collection now complete, the evaluation of the care model's implementation & effectiveness outcomes is ongoing.

The PhD student will be embedded in the international SMILe study team and will participate in the evaluation of the SMILe intervention (i.e., medication adherence outcome & process evaluation).


Your position

  • Assume responsibility for the evaluation of medication adherence outcomes (selfreported adherence and electronic monitoring data):
  • Data management & analysis
  • Reporting of the findings
  • Quantitative research methods will be applied
  • Assume responsibility for the methodological planning and completion of the Process Evaluation:
  • Developing a methodology for the process evaluation using already collected data as well as planning and conducting a primary data collection
  • Reporting of the findings
  • Application of quantitative and qualitative research methods
  • Participate in research meetings at the INS as well as internationally
  • Present at national and international congresses
  • Fulfil teaching assistant activities in the Master of Nursing Science curriculum

Your profile

  • Master's degree in Nursing Science, Public Health, Medicine, Health Sciences, Psychology or related field
  • Sound methodological and statistical skills and experience in use of statistical analysis software (e.g., R) or willingness to strengthen these competencies
  • Firm foundation in qualitative research methods
  • Competencies in implementation science, or a willingness to build such competencies
  • Sound knowledge of basic office packages (e.g., Word, PowerPoint)
  • Competency in German is mandatory level B2 minimum
  • Good oral and written English level B2 minimum
  • A proactive selfdirected working style
  • Excellent ability to work as a team member
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Experience / expertise with caring for haematology patients is an asset.
