Associate Director, Pharmaceuticals Market Research

The Associate Director, Pharmaceuticals Market Research & Analytics works closely with the Global and US Market Access organizations in establishing optimal global access, pricing, and reimbursement strategies for the company's Hospital, Specialty, and Oncology Alliance portfolio with the opportunity to expand to other therapeutic areas over time. The position requires strategic alignment with multiple stakeholders including Global and US Market Access and Pricing teams, Global and US Brand and New Products teams as well as the Human Health Digital, Data and Analytics organization. The Associate Director will help scope, design, and deliver well-defined payer research projects leveraging primary and secondary research, analytics, and data.

Responsibilities:
- A strong understanding of the pharmaceutical business, the product portfolio (in market and products in development), gotomarket and launch strategies, as well as market access, pricing and reimbursement needs to help develop the insights required to optimize global market access
- Together with Market Access, Pricing, Brand and New Product Lead identify critical business challenges and opportunities for access and pricing of clinical development assets, new launch products and or inmarketed products
- Provides recommendations on market access and pricing strategies and tactics and actionable insights on likely reimbursement and coverage scenarios based on research insights, data, and analytics
- Manages all aspects of primary market research including leadership in framing critical business questions. Provides rationale for research methodologies and or internally or externally data sources to be leveraged and articulates the hypotheses to be tested
- Writeup Requests for Proposals, understand agency capabilities and innovative approaches, manage selection process, and leads interface with thirdparty agencies as well as monitor budgets
- Considers alternative ways of meeting an information need, recommends appropriate sources (data, analytics, primary or secondary research) to address business requests
- Responsible for the synthesis of information from secondary research, including the analysis and dissemination of syndicated research. Responsible for understanding the various syndicated and secondary data and performing analytics independently, or in partnership with advanced analytics team, to inform payer strategies and tactics
- Leads implementation of all corporate compliance standards and administrative responsibilities of research studies
- Proactively collaborates with team members and crossfunctional business partners to enhance business results by providing recommendations on product access and pricing decisions based on research insights and data analysis
- Strong communication, presentation, project management and leadership skills required insights
- Works directly with research agencies to ensure effective presentations and other material; reviews analysis of research data, converts it into a presentation; verifies research data accuracy
- Manages without authority and demonstrates appropriate situational leadership skills
- Manages competing priorities & demands
- Travel may be required which is less than 10% of the time
Your Profile:
Education Minimum Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in related discipline required
- MBA or Master's degree in Business, Finance, Public Health, Policy, Pharmacy, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science preferred
Required Experience and Skills:
- Extensive experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
- Experience from the management consulting or market access industries considered as a plus
- Strong understanding of healthcare environment, market access landscape and payer trends
- Solid understanding of market research, forecasting and data driven analytics
- Selfmotivated, proactive, ability to work independently and collaborate seamlessly
- Ability to understand business process and break down business questions into specific, tangible hypotheses and requirements to guide analysis. Excellent problemsolving skills with an appreciation for data oriented analytical methods
