Your main responsibilities

  • Nominate Western European natural gas positions in a timely and accurate manner
  • Check positions with trading counterparts, Transmission and Storage System Operators
  • Book gas capacities for gas transportation, supply and storages
  • Integrate and operate new products (storages, VPPs, swing options...)
  • Improve nomination and optimization processes via automation and collaboration with IT and Analysis
  • Monitor market rules and provide traders and originators with constructive feedback of operational conditions and opportunities
  • Support expansion of Alpiq gas activities with adhoc analysis on a project basis
  • Contribute to balancing and optimizing Alpiq spot gas positions during and outside of normal business hours
  • Perform piquet duty (oncall 24/7 from Monday to Sunday and weekend shift) according to a shift schedule

Your profile

  • Degree in computer science, engineering, economics or business (min. bachelor level)
  • Previous experience in the energy trading sector is of advantage but not a prerequisite
  • Demonstrated computer skills (Visual Basic, Python, SQL highly desirable)
  • Excellent team player willing to interact with people within and outside of Alpiq
  • Ability to work in an accurate way while under pressure and to respect strict deadlines
  • Good communication skills, fluency in English, other language(s) highly desirable
