The team is dedicated to developing and testing a flight-ready spacecraft, learning about aerospace engineering along the way, and ultimately launching their contribution to space
The Thermal Control (TC) TeamThe Thermal Control Team is responsible for managing the thermal environment of the CubeSat. This involves designing and implementing systems to maintain the temperature of the satellite’s components within operational limits, ensuring optimal performance and longevity in the harsh conditions of space.
The Position – Spacecraft Thermal Testing EngineerThis position offers a unique opportunity to delve into space systems testing. The focus is on validating the components and the entire SAGE system, particularly in terms of its thermal requirements. You will collaborate with the current thermal team to achieve the following goals:
- Demonstrate the functionality and survival of components and payloads under the extreme conditions of the orbital environment through subsystem tests.
- Establish a reliable test bench and ground support equipment for system-level thermal tests in a vacuum environment.
- Validate the flight worthiness of the satellite through a comprehensive system thermal vacuum test.
What you should bring:
- Basic knowledge of software development in Python and/or C++
- Basic understanding of electronics hardware
- Basic lab experience and testing knowledge
- Basic data analysis skills
- Fundamental understanding of thermodynamics
Time Commitment: 10-15 hours per week
