We are looking for a Head Business Applications who will lead the global team that owns, develops, manages, and supports all the core business applications of the organization. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the portfolio of our customer and employee facing banking business applications, work closely with commercial product teams, business units, technology, and 3rd party vendors. This role requires strong leadership & analytical skills, deep understanding of banking processes and applications, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders inside and outside the organization.

 In this function you will be responsible for the following:

  • Manage a team of business applications owners and functional experts who own and manage core applications e.g. core banking system, e-Banking, mobile App, originations systems etc.
  • Define and drive the overall strategy and architecture related to those application in close collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
  • End to end responsibility for the respective business applications incl. definition of their roadmap, design, operation, vendor management, SLAs & KPIs, budget and continuous improvement
  • Work closely with various business and technology departments to understand needs and requirements and translate them into a comprehensive roadmap, specifications, and solutions
  • Own directly specific business applications and act as the product owner in the respective delivery teams, participating in projects and initiatives, managing demand, leading backlog refinement, coordinating vendors and stakeholders, providing priorities and approving deliverables
  • Drive digitization and optimization of business processes focusing on operational excellence          
  • Manage relationship with external vendors, hold budget responsibility and perform regular vendor performance reviews
  • Act as a liaison between senior management and the business applications data team and ensure smooth collaboration with business units, external vendors, and IT teams

For you to become part of AMINA’s journey, we require the following:

  • Possess a university degree in technology or business or with significant relevant experience
  • Proven experience in the financial service industry managing business applications or digital products. At least 3 years of experience in leading and managing functional and technical teams
  • Solid understanding of digital product roadmaps, process engineering, service management and agile and waterfall delivery methodologies
  • Experience with core banking systems, client facing and employee facing applications and digital channels
  • Be comfortable to operate between business and technology and demonstrate strong business acumen and digital/technology affinity
  • Fluent in written and spoken English; German knowledge is a strong plus
  • ITIL certification, BPMN2.0 modelling and Lean or Six Sigma certification are a plus
  • Strong communicator, leader and manager, goal and results oriented, able to work independently both conceptually and hands on
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies in alignment with the bank’s overall goals
  • Conceptual thinker with strong analytical skills and problem-solving attitude
  • Passionate about technology, curious about digital assets
