Our global Industrial Division offers Automation Products and Solutions which enable our customers to increase productivity, achieve high uptime and reduce waste. Our R&D Competence Center, established in Switzerland in 2023, is focused on developing data-based solutions to provide effective solutions for a range of customer use cases, by leveraging sensor data and our terminal as a key-component in edge computing. We are committed to enhancing our capabilities in predictive maintenance. We are seeking a motivated Master's student for 6-9 months to contribute to this critical area, offering a unique opportunity to work on real-world problems and contribute to the development of our future data science framework/platform. We are looking for someone for a Data Science Internship in Predictive Maintenance 80-100% (all genders). In this role, your responsibilities would include:
  • You conduct comprehensive analysis of field service data and telemetry from measuring devices to identify patterns and predict potential failures
  • You develop and implement machine learning models to forecast maintenance needs, reducing downtime and operational costs
  • You collaborate with engineering and operations teams to integrate predictive maintenance insights into service workflows
  • You participate in the design and development of a scalable data science framework/platform to support future projects
  • You ensure best practices in ML Ops are followed, including model deployment, monitoring, and management
  • You document methodologies, models, and findings for internal use and as part of your Master Thesis project
  • You engage in team meetings to share insights, progress, and collaborate on problem-solving
What You Need to Succeed
Following requirements are necessary for this role:
  • You are currently enrolled in or graduated from Master's program in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with a focus on machine learning
  • You are proficient in machine learning, data science methodologies, and ML Ops principles
  • You have strong programming skills in Python, including familiarity with ML libraries (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and data processing (e.g., Pandas, NumPy)
  • You are experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly) and understanding of data engineering concepts
  • You have the ability to analyze and interpret complex datasets, with experience in telemetry or field service data being a plus
  • You have excellent problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
