We are looking for a Financial Accounting Expert (m/f) to join Allianz Risk Transfer (ART) preferably in Schaan (Liechtenstein), Zurich/Wallisellen (Switzerland), or in Munich (Germany).

  

The Impact You Will Have 

In this role, you will be reporting to the Head of Accounting ART and you will be responsonsible for the following main tasks:  

- Closing & Reporting activities on level General Ledger ART, monitoring of ICOFR and internal controls 

- Preparation for local regulatory reporting requirements, coordination of annual (and interim) audits  

- Preparation and support of ad-hoc requests, frequent MIS, FRDC, RSR/SFCR 

- Transformation of ART's processes under Allianz Commercial’s target operating model and local needs, to ensure stable operations.  

 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include: 

  • Ensure that all IFRS, GAAP and Statutory closing and reporting tasks (e.g. annual report, reporting to regulatory authorities, NAIC reporting, other internal/external reporting requirements) related to your area of responsibility are accurate and timely on a global basis.  

  • Complete assigned postings, journal entries and account reconciliations on a periodic basis. Reconcile and settle intercompany transactions within the affiliated company group. 

  • Coordination, transfer and reconcilation of data from interfaces of front-end systems. 

  • Take care of monthly legal entity close submission activities, including posting of accruals, deferred acquisition expenses and other accounting transactions. 

  • Support colleagues in the near- and offshore entities with their closing tasks, coordinate the tasks and supervise the teams and perform quality checks on the work done.  

  • Document application of policies, procedures and workflow for your areas of responsibility. 

  • Archive records to satisfy audit and statutory requirements. 

  • Draft standards to improve quality as well as active contribution in improving and implementing global operation cycles, processes and workflows as well as the implemention of global policies and procedures. 

  • Global P&L analysis and reviews: Assist internal clients (e.g. other departments) with reports, research and other activities. Identify items or discussion or resolution. 

  • Manage relationship with 3rd parties (auditors, business units, tax authorities, public authorities, etc.) and function as gate keeper between internal and external stakeholders 

  • Work on projects and ad-hoc tasks  

 

What You’ll Bring to the Role 

  • Degree preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or qualified by experience in related discipline 

  • Professional qualification related to Accounting (e.g. CPA, ACCA, etc.) required 

  • 5-7 years of professional experience in Reinsurance, P&C Insurance and/or Asset Management 

  • 5-7 years of experience working with standard accounting (GAAP & IFRS) for insurance and reinsurance 

  • Several years of experience with project work in an international environment 

  • Understanding insurance financial statements and their performance measurement including drivers and being able to perform financial statements analysis (e.g. Ratio Analysis) and reconciliations 

  • Comprehensive knowledge of local GAAP, IAS / IFRS, Regulatory, Tax and other relevant requirements (such as Allianz Accounting policies) with regards to reporting, compliance and declaration 

  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem solving skills 

  • Excellent ability to manage projects (milestone and task planning, managing resources, controlling, monitoring, reporting, moderating) and to handle complex processes including understanding of data flows, documentation of processes, analysis of root causes and creation of action plans 

  • Ability to collaborate across teams and remotely as well as ability to supervise and coordinate near- and offshore teams without authority 

  • Advanced digital skills with knowledge of data architecture, understanding the potential of data analytics and the ability to digitalize the accounting processes and explain the accounting needs to third parties 

  • Advanced Office skills like Excel, Access & Powerpoint to effectively analyze data and convey messages in a winning fashion and proficiency in using systems in your own area (like SAP, Business Warehouse) 

  • Proficiency in both German and English languages is required.
