We develop cable protection systems for a wide range of market segments for our global customers. We aim to expand our position in our target markets through the targeted development and enhancement of solutions. To strengthen our highly dedicated team, we are looking for a technically and culturally open-minded Senior R&D Engineer (f/m/d). In this position, you will contribute ideas for innovative product and technology developments to solve industrial problems. Reporting to the R&D Technology Manager, you will participate in new developments/innovation projects, design new creative ideas, as well as cooperating with other ABB R&D locations. Proposing follow-up projects and activities based on new ideas.

Your responsibilities
  • Contribute to technical innovation projects in support of business development with your technical expertise
  • Cooperate with international research centers in new product or technology developments
  • Interact with international R&D departments and internal stakeholders
  • Active design innovative cable protection systems
  • Provide professional technical support with simulation and testing
Your background
  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, specialization in the plastics sector an advantage
  • 2-5 years of experience in engineering discipline
  • Proven knowledge of manufacturing technologies such as injection molding, 3D printing or metal manufacturing
  • Excellent design skills using of CAD (Creo), Windchill and SAP
  • Experience with simulation software (Moldflow, Netfabb) is an advantage
  • Well-developed analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent German and English skills, both in written and spoken
