The Biological Payload (PAY) TeamThe Biological Payload Team is focused on the scientific aspect of the mission, specifically the study of human cells in space. This team designs and implements the biological experiments, as well as the technology needed to for automized cell culture in the harsh space environment.
The Position – Microfluidics Design EngineerAs a Microfluidics Design Engineer, you will design, manufacture, and test a complex valving system in collaboration with BIBUS/Memetis. This valve system will control the flow of over 40 channels, supplying the microfluidic chip with essential medium, drugs, and discarding waste fluid, ensuring the seamless operation of our biological experiments in space.
What you should bring:
- Basic understanding of fluiddynamics
- Interest in pratical, hands-on work
- Ideal field of study: Mechanical Engineering, Physics
Time Commitment: 10-15 hours per week
