The SAGE Mission

SAGE is a student satellite team with the ambitious goal of launching the first CubeSat carrying human cells. The objective is to investigate how aging occurs differently in space compared to Earth. The team is dedicated to developing and testing a flight-ready spacecraft, learning about aerospace engineering along the way, and ultimately launching their contribution to space

The Biological Payload (PAY) Team

The Biological Payload Team is focused on the scientific aspect of the mission, specifically the study of human cells in space. This team designs and implements the biological experiments, as well as the technology needed to for automized cell culture in the harsh space environment.

The Position – Material Scientist

As a Materials Science Engineer, you will contribute to the development of advanced materials for the biological payload systems.

What you should bring:

  • (Basic) understanding of biological systems
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment
  • Interest in finding creative, unusual solutions
  • Ideal field of study: Material Science

Time Commitment: 10-15 hours per week
