Software Engineer with a focus on GUI development in Qt/QML 80

Hamilton Medical is a leading manufacturer of intelligent ventilators. Whether in intensive care units, during emergency transport or an MRI examination – our solutions cover a variety of patient groups, applications and environments. This is what you can do: After familiarizing yourself with the basics of ventilation and our development tools, you will specify, analyze (architecture and design), implement and test embedded software for ventilators using the latest methods (model driven development) and tools (IBM Rhapsody, Linux) in the C++ programming language. You are part of a larger team consisting of individuals with a wide variety of backgrounds, ways of thinking and expertise. You work closely with developers from the software team but also with stakeholders from various departments from product management to production. You follow product developments from the first idea through the first HW/SW prototypes to the final product. Your tasks include:
  • Definition of the operating concept in collaboration with UI designers and internal stakeholders
  • Conception and further development of software architecture and design
  • Conduct and participate in architecture and code reviews with the team
  • Implementation of the user interface with Qt/QML and C++ on an embedded platform
  • Creation of automated tests with Squish and QtTest
  • Further tasks in embedded system development, depending on knowledge and interests
This is what you bring with you:
  • Completed degree in computer science or comparable qualification (university/technical college)
  • Experience with GUI development; especially with the Qt/QML framework
  • Experience with C++ (object-oriented programming)
  • Software analysis and design with UML
  • Working independently and carefully
  • Motivation to familiarize yourself with new subject areas
  • Good knowledge of German and English
Experience in the following areas is also an advantage:
  • Software architecture and design
  • Experience in embedded areas
  • Embedded Linux
  • Requirements Engineering
  • GUI testing frameworks like Squish or Qt-Test
  • Experience with large-scale software systems
  • Creating and executing software tests at various levels
  • Use of the IBM Rhapsody development environment
  • Performance optimization of CPU rendering with Qt
  • Experience coordinating work between teams and developers
