Position Summary

The Nestlé System Technology Centre (NSTC) in Orbe is Nestlé's leading R&D center for the design, development and deployment of Nestlé delivery systems, offering expertise in machines, packaging and products for in-home and out-of-home.

As a R&D Specialist Machine Research, you will be driving the ideation and exploration phase of innovative and competitive products. You will also lead technology and process systems which meet Consumer / Markets / Business / Strategic Business Unit's needs in alignment with Nestlé Continuous Excellence model. In your role, you will help Nespresso to achieve sustainable high performance in alignment with the requirements of the business, propose solution and provide strong scientific/technical guidance to team members and support projects to deliver innovative and competitive products.

A Day in the Life of a R&D Specialist Machine Research

Understand consumer and business needsCollaborate and support marketing team to define the value proposition and the product brief including technical requirementEnsure and take personal responsibility for quality/sustainability by design and system safety by applying best practices across the value chainExplore and propose technical innovative system solutionsBuild functional demonstrator and proof of concept and build knowledge around new system performanceAssess and test UX and ErgonomyAlign with development team on project budget, resources, and timeline from concept phase to product launchMaster stakeholder management and presents results/methods in written and oral form to senior interested parties inside and outside of STCManage relationship with external service providers (engineering consultants, designers, experts-), allocate and manage their budget

What will make you successful

BSc, MSc or PHD Engineering degree, ideally in mechanical or micro technical5-10 years of R&D experience in product development and industrialization (preferably consumer goods or household appliances)Excellent Communication skillsOpen and Creative mind Sense of playfulnessImaginative solution-oriented to real-world issuesFluent in English, French is a plus
