Security Engineer, Product Security Engineering, Cloud CISO

Our Security team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. Security Engineers work with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. In this role, you will also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.
As a Product Security Engineering (PSE), you will be responsible for ensuring that every Google Cloud product ships as secure as it can be by increasing the assurance levels of security in the infrastructure underlying all our products, increasing the capabilities of each product team to develop more secure products by design and by default, from patterns, tools and frameworks to increasing the skill level of embedded security leads. You will own and drive the product security strategy for Google Cloud. You will work with almost every aspect of Google’s infrastructure and on solving truly planet scale infrastructure security problems that have societal level impacts. The PSE Hardening team works collaboratively with Cloud and TI product teams to drive meaningful risk reduction through carefully chosen security projects.Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. Minimum qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in Cloud Security.
- Experience in Threat Modeling.
- Experience in Kubernetes.
- Experience in security testing.
- Experience in Consulting.
- Proficiency in Go, Java, or C++.
- Ability to influence others along with excellent communication skills.
- Identify security issues and implement and design security controls, tools, and services to improve security systems and processes.
- Perform security reviews, research and reproduce vulnerabilities, design secure protocols and systems, and write tests and fuzzers.
- Review and develop secure operational practices, and provide security guidance for engineers and support staff.
- Review designs and drive towards defense in depth and security by default, both with one-time reviews and longer term engagements.
- Drive clear and measurable risk reduction to Cloud products through cross-functional partnerships and deep technical expertise.
