Responsible Sourcing Manager (fixed-term) - Your future position?

As a Responsible Sourcing Manager, you will drive Sourcing4Good program through our end-to-end supply chain and ensure implementation of responsible sourcing projects in line with the strategy and targets. You will drive sustainability improvements across the Naturals, Synthetics and Indirect Materials & Services supply chains and ensure your focus is on bringing value for our internal teams, suppliers, communities and customers, besides providing expertise and advice. You will report directly to the Global Head of Responsible Sourcing.

This role is a maternity cover with a 1-year fixed-term contract.

Multiple location: Kemptthal (Switzerland), Argenteuil (France), Budapest (Hungary), Ashford (UK), Naarden (Netherlands), Dortmund (Germany), Vernier (Switzerland), Avignon (France)

In this exciting role, you will:

Implementation 

• Define yearly action plans with key milestones for your portfolio. (with Procurement Heads and SBPs)

• Work with your team mates to implement a new operating model with Procurement, through guiding and supporting procurement category managers in the integration of key elements of the Sourcing4Good program into their day to day work. In collaboration with full Procurement – Synthetics, IM&S and Naturals global team. 

• Drive and accelerate progress on your portfolio of the program, and will support and cover for team mates when necessary. (covering in 2 less members in the team currently – Since Jan-till Sept)

• Collaborate with suppliers and external partners to identify gaps against the Givaudan Responsible Sourcing Policy throughout supply chains in each spend category.(working with >100 key suppliers worldwide annually and as part of industry forums TfS)

• Identify necessary improvements, agree and execute action plans and monitor progress. (working with FIM, NII, Proc, EDM GSS)

• Drive the gathering and accumulation of materials attributes data to meet our customers’ increasing demands for supply chain information. (managing growing key customer demands and relations with strategic customers like Loreal, Loccitane, Coty etc.)

Business Partnering

• Actively promote the responsible sourcing program with all relevant stakeholders.(Proc, Div, FIM, SLT, VQM, Supp, Cust, Comm)

• Develop and deliver regular training to category managers and suppliers. (also for other functions like VQM, Origination etc.)

• Present regular progress reports to our category manager workforce and Procurement and Business leadership teams. 

• Ensure a constant dialogue is maintained with internal stakeholders such as Procurement, Sustainability, Corporate Communications and Commercial teams. (others incl. FIM, FIB, Commercial, EDM, Proc. Excellence, Digitalization)

• Provide relevant content for customer presentations and individual requests, and attend customer meetings when necessary (>20)

• Supplier Engagement: For certain raw material supply chains you will be required to  travel in order to foster collaboration and accelerate progress. (running steercos and managing portfolio for key ingredients like Turpentine, Castor, Osmanthus, CLO, Mint)

Communications

• Be an ambassador for Sourcing4Good both inside and outside the business, as well as for Givaudan’s Purpose and Sustainability goals.

• Build advocacy for Sourcing4Good throughout the business.

• Use internal and external communications platforms to bring visibility to Givaudan’s sustainability and responsible sourcing activities (support with GRI, IAR, WBA, Ecovadis etc.)

Your professional profile includes:

• University degree in in Business Administration, Environmental Sciences, Engineering or Sustainability or a related field strongly preferred

• Extensive knowledge and minimum 5 years experience in responsible or sustainable sourcing or  sustainability topics and sustainability standards

• Proven experience in creating valuable improvements throughout supply chains in a direct and indirect supplier setting, including up to farm level

• Experienced in sustainable sourcing of commodities, such as Palm products and RSPO certification

• Fluency in English

• A self-starter, experienced in problem-solving and bringing clarity to areas of ambiguity

• Solid project management experience 

• A proven team builder, thriving on creating value through collaboration

• Ability to communicate and influence effectively 

• Ability to navigate with autonomy

• Good analytical skills, with the ability to transform data into useful information and a convincing presentation 

• Experienced in budget management

• This role will need to stand in for the Global Head of Responsible Sourcing from time to time, therefore ability to work autonomously is required.
