For our client based in Valais, a company active in the plastic mould injection industry, we are looking for a Moulds Business Unit Manager (M/F).
Your activities at your future employer
- Leading a team of 4 design engineers and app. 15 shopfloor people
- (Project Planning & Management, Quality Control, CNC Machining incl. Programming,
- Molds Test Assembly, Prototype Testing)
- Implement a strategy to enable consistent growth of the Mold business and Services.
- Initiate LEAN Production Operations in Moulds Factory and continuously improve productivity; use automation technology to increase growth and output with same or less staff
- Pursue new market opportunities with Sales
- Drive operational efficiencies through innovation and new product/service introductions.
- Take responsibility for people decisions such as people management and performance management.
- Build a strong and empowered team, coaches, counsels and motivates the team through regular feedback.
- Manage the workstream Engineering & Manufacturing of this Business Units
- Member of the Management Team
- Hands-on leader (at least 50% time to be spent on shopfloor)
- Can identify and train talented foremen in shopfloor
- Experienced in lean improvements for moulds production and assembly processes
- Can understand and make assembly processes more efficient
- Able and willing to relocate to Wallis or closeby
- Education: ideally a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a lean qualification or Technical Apprenticeship with experience in mold making /tool making (“Werkzeugmacher”)
- Experience in automation business is a plus
- Languages: English a must, German preferable, French a plus
