Job Overview:

RBI is the global owner of 4 amazing brands â Burger King, Popeyes, Tim Hortons and Firehouse Subs. The International RBI team supports all brands in all markets outside of the United States & Canada.

This position is responsible for making strategic kitchen design and equipment decisions for the International RBI business. They will need the engineering capability to design QSR equipment and kitchen layouts. In addition, they will need to organize strategic principles into clearly understood plans and be able to explain these plans to internal stakeholders as well as franchisee partners & vendors.

The ideal candidate has substantial experience with QSR and leading teams; they also have significant experience executing and communicating strategic objectives.

The position sits within the International Operations structure, which is responsible for strategic OPS projects for all RBI brands Internationally. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Operations, International.

Responsibilities:                                                                                                                     

  • Be the international expert on kitchen design.
  • Determine kitchen design priorities based on existing gaps and regional/brand needs.
  • Organize & own RBI and brand level priority projects specific to equipment and kitchen design across all brands.
  • Project plan cross-functionally and cross-regionally to ensure plans are robust enough to be properly completed internationally.
  • Ensure execution of existing Franchisee processes for all international restaurants.
  • Manage supplier partner leadership.
  • Support regional teams via knowledge, planning, and communication.
  • Work closely with Operations Processes team and Brand Marketing teams to develop new equipment, to improve operations performance, and to ensure ROI.
  • Create compelling materials for communicating and convincing others of project value.
  • Continuously improve restaurant operations performance via improvement to kitchen design and equipment.

Desired qualifications & skills:

  • Bachelor's degree (Masters preferred) in Engineering field (Mechanical, Industrial, or similar).
  • 3+ yearsâ hands-on experience in Quick Service Restaurant industry.
  • 5+ yearsâ experience in project management.
  • 3+ yearsâ experience working on global/regional teams.
  • Advanced business and financial acumen.
  • Significant problem-solving skills and analytical capabilities; Six Sigma training preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Fluent English is required.
