Financial Reporting, Senior Associate

Who we are looking for

You are responsible for the timely and accurate preparation and delivery of annual and interim financial statements to our clients, auditors and regulators.

What you will be responsible for

  • Prepare and complete draft of audited annual and unaudited interim financial statements from trial balance, including Profit and Loss Account, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Schedule of Investments, notes to financial statements.

  • Review fund financial statements, including audit work papers.

  • Coordinate distribution of financial statements: Assemble financial statements draft, all supporting documentation and calculations.

  • Prepare and/or accumulate complete and accurate audit work papers for accuracy and sufficiency and liaise with auditors during ordinary fund audit period.

  • Utilize Financial Reporting applications and financial statement templates.  Identify and resolve issues as they arise.  Suggest process improvements (enhanced automation, etc.).

  • Liaise with the responsible client quality and product managers to pass on new reporting requirements and improvement requests placed by the clients/investment managers/auditors.

  • Effectively communicate with various groups in an articulate and professional manner.

  • Review distribution guidelines, financial reporting changes and other policies and procedures of the team.

  • Train, coach and instruct junior staff in the department.

  • Support and participate actively in project meetings of assigned projects especially in the evaluation of a new regulatory reporting tool.

  • Supports continuous improvements and process changes towards efficient and effective processes.

  • At least 3 year of work experience related to custody, fund accounting and fund administration/services is a must.

  • Commercial apprenticeship or familiar education with financial industry

  • Good Microsoft Office knowledge and interest in IT

  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, keep attention to detail and understand client requirements and regulatory or audit environment.

  • Ability to work in a deadline-oriented group with peak period workflow.

  • Have an enquiring mind and a willingness to investigate and solve problems.

  • Strong organizational, communication and analytical skills

  • Strong willingness to learn and develop one-self.

  • Very good English skills, both spoken and written. German and/or French skills are a plus.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in accounting, Finance and/or Business Administration or Banking apprenticeship

  • At least 3 year of work experience related to custody, fund accounting and fund administration/services is a must.

  • Good understanding of the fund accounting, different investment instruments and financial markets

  • Very good English skills, both spoken and written. German and/or French skills are a plus.
