For motivated candidates we offer the chance to belong to one of the world’s largest producers and marketers of commodities and to be part of a specialized, international, and diverse Freight team within the Coal Department.

The main tasks and responsibilities include

Collecting, compiling, analyzing and presenting quantitative and qualitative data on the freight and commodity markets

Maintaining and developing a structured approach to the storage and analysis of statistical information, including supply, demand, trade data, and macroeconomic indicators

Tracking and reporting relevant market news on a daily basis

Assimilating information sourced from the company’s extensive network of field offices and from external industry sources and contacts

Identifying market trends and economic developments affecting the international freight markets and to provide real time feedback on other relevant markets

Developing and maintaining internal technical reports and models with a view to expand their coverage to commodities carried by bulk carriers

The role is 100% office based

Qualifications and requirements

A degree or equivalent qualification economics / statistics / economic geography and a keen interest in the commodity markets

Proven analytical skills, including the ability to critically analyze data and identify trends and key drivers

Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills

Advanced presentation, research, and verbal / written communication skills

Experience with Oracle’s databases work (reports) as an advantage

Fluent in English spoken and written (corporate language)

Holding a Swiss work permit or passport holder of CH / EU
