What it's about

 

For this position, we are looking for a highly skilled investment fund distribution lawyer for our Zug (Switzerland) or London office . In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the distribution activity within the Private Wealth Structuring team.

 

The Private Wealth Structuring team is responsible for designing and scaling Partners Group’s Private Wealth platform. It develops innovative investment structures and funds for institutional and private investors globally.  Representative projects include the establishment and maintenance of closed and open-ended investment vehicles (ELITIFs, UCITs Part II, SICAVs, limited partnerships and other investment funds), the design and formation of bespoke investment structures, the review of regulatory frameworks (AIFMD, MiFID) and the negotiation of customized client solutions and distribution agreements. Structuring professionals collaborate with the firm’s client relationship management, investment, compliance and operations teams as well as with clients, external professionals and regulators.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Providing expert legal advice on fund distribution in various jurisdictions and advising on cross-border promotion of fund products and investment services
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements such as rebate and distribution agreements, investment management agreements and platform agreements with clients in various jurisdictions
  • Providing relevant advice on client onboarding by collaborating with internal stakeholders and external counsels, participating in onboarding committees, and contributing to distribution-related projects
  • Together with the client solutions team, interacting with clients and service providers  to put in place robust processes which ensure the highest quality of service is provided accross the platform
  • Further developing Partners Group's distribution platform network and services

 

What we expect

 

  • Experience with the distribution framework of European asset managers and distributors
  • Familiar with European regulation in relation to product distribution
  • Solid understanding of open-ended fund structures and features
  • Located in Zug or London
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • High attention to detail, very organized
  • Self-motivated and proactive individual with strong desire to learn and succeed, valuing in-person collaboration at the office
  • Strong interpersonal and project management skills to manage multiple projects at any one time
  • Excellent English skills
