About the Role

The DevOps Engineer is responsible to ensure that Genedata’s worldwide IT infrastructure is properly configured and meets all security standards.

Your Responsibilities
  • Maintain the RedHat Satellite and Ansible infrastructure
  • Participating in planning, implementing, and maintaining our Linux IT infrastructure
  • Performing software maintenance and automated Linux installation in a virtualized environment
  • Following internal SOP and documentation of implementation
  • Managing server hardware incl. firmware updates
  • Assisting in other fields including Linux-Windows connectivity, firewalls, and backup systems
  • Supporting end users
Skills & Experience
  • University degree in computer science, engineering, or related field with a min. of 3 years related business experience
  • In-depth Linux client and server knowledge (RedHat)
  • Knowledge of Apache, SSL, SSSD, SSHD, Samba, DNS, DHCP, Postfix and NFS
  • Scripting experience (e.g. Bash, Python)
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP network configuration and troubleshooting
  • Experiences with one or multiple of the following is a plus
    • Atlassian Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket
    • Firewall concepts
    • Virtualization with VMware ESXi
    • Performing 2nd level user support
  • Fluency in English, German is a plus
