Rust Software Engineer - Medical Devices / Molecular Diagnostics m/f/d, Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with strong Rust expertise to join their PCR Software Development chapter in Rotkreuz. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of high-quality medical software solutions used in molecular diagnostics. Your work will directly support laboratories worldwide in delivering accurate, timely diagnostic results that improve patient care. This position offers a collaborative, cross-functional environment, modern technologies, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in healthcare innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain Rust-based software solutions for regulated medical devices Ensure compliance with medical software standards and regulatory requirements Deliver high-quality, reliable software on time, supporting broader project success Collaborate closely with cross-functional and intercultural teams (software, systems, QA) Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and constructively Lead by example, fostering collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement Support mentoring and knowledge sharing within the client's team Required Skills & Experience Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, or equivalent practical experience Several years of professional software development experience , including at least 2 years with Rust Strong understanding of Rust fundamentals (ownership, borrowing, lifetimes) Experience with asynchronous programming in Rust (async/await) Hands-on knowledge of Rust frameworks and libraries such as tokio, actix-web, rocket, serde, sqlx Strong problem-solving skills with a structured and analytical approach Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate in diverse teams Fluency in English (mandatory); German is a plus Nice to Have Experience with event-driven architectures , DDD , TDD/BDD , or Kubernetes Experience acting as a Technical Lead ISAQB certification or equivalent Sounds like a great job?
